EX Sandstorm arrived in 2003 as part of the EX series era that defined mid-2000s Pokémon collecting. These sets introduced powerful EX mechanics that shifted competitive play and marked a stylistic evolution in card design. Reverse holo treatments became a major appeal during this period, offering collectors an alternative to standard finishes while maintaining accessibility through multiple print versions. Lileep represents the fossil Pokémon concept that has long captured collector imagination—ancient creatures brought back through scientific means. The reverse holo treatment gives the card a distinctive shimmer that showcases the artwork's details, making it a natural target for those building complete set collections or focusing on the Crinoid Pokémon line's various printings.
