Sword & Shield launched in February 2020 as the first set of the ninth generation, arriving just as the trading card game experienced explosive renewed interest. The set established the V and VMAX mechanic framework that would define the era, making it foundational to modern competitive play and collecting. Its mainstream cultural moment coincided with the pandemic boom that transformed the hobby, cementing Sword & Shield's historical significance. Lapras V captures one of Pokémon's most beloved water-types in full V-card glory. Collectors appreciate this card for its striking artwork and the character's enduring appeal across generations. As a non-rare V from the core set, it remains accessible while representing the iconic Lapras line that has resonated with players since the franchise's earliest days.
