Burning Shadows arrived in 2017 during a pivotal moment for Pokémon TCG, bridging the gap between early-generation nostalgia and contemporary gameplay. The set introduced the Guardians Rising block's full roster of GX Pokémon, establishing mechanics that would define competitive play for years. Collectors value this era for its accessibility and the artistic consistency that made late 2010s Pokémon cards immediately recognizable and highly playable. Gardevoir GX stands out as one of the set's most sought cards, combining elegant artwork with genuine competitive utility. The psychic powerhouse captured collectors' imaginations both for its striking visual presentation and its role in viable tournament decks, making it a cornerstone card for those building themed collections or pursuing playsets from this formative period.
