The XY set marked Pokémon's return to the Trading Card Game after a brief hiatus, launching in 2014 with a new generation of creatures and a refreshed visual identity. This set established the foundation for the modern TCG era, introducing updated mechanics and artwork styles that defined competitive play for years. The Cracked Ice Holo finish became iconic among collectors for its distinctive, frosted appearance that caught light beautifully on cards from this release. Xerneas, the legendary Life Pokémon, carries particular significance as a flagship creature of Generation VI. Its ethereal design and vibrant coloration made it a natural choice for premium treatments like this exclusive holo variant. Collectors pursue this card for both its mythological appeal and the striking visual presentation the cracked ice texture brings to its already impressive artwork.
