Hidden Fates arrived in late 2019 as a special collection of reprinted cards and new full-art alternate illustrations. The set captured a moment when Pokemon TCG was experiencing renewed mainstream interest, and its premium presentation made it instantly popular with both players and collectors. Its release marked a shift toward special sets designed primarily for collectors rather than the competitive scene. Starmie GX appears here as a full-art alternate illustration, showcasing the elegant water-type Pokemon in a striking composition. The card combines the appeal of a strong GX mechanic with the visual impact that drives collector interest in special edition versions. Alternate arts from this era remain sought-after entries for Hidden Fates enthusiasts.
