The Black & White era marked a significant turning point for Pokémon TCG, introducing an entirely new generation of creatures alongside a visual refresh. These Black Star promos, distributed through various channels between 2010 and 2012, captured the excitement of the Nintendo DS games' launch. They remain cherished touchstones of early fifth-generation collecting, when the TCG was experiencing renewed growth and cultural relevance. Oshawott, the water-type starter from Unova, represents the debut appeal of Black & White. The holo treatment on this promotional version showcases the character's charm with the artistic style that defined the era. Collectors value these starter promos as foundational pieces of their collections, particularly those pursuing complete generation lineups or building comprehensive holo sets from this formative period.
