Garbage Pail Kids experienced a significant resurgence in the early 2020s as nostalgia-driven collectors rediscovered the brand's irreverent humor and distinctive artwork. The 2022 Book Worms set capitalized on this renewed interest, offering fresh takes on classic GPK themes while maintaining the satirical edge that defined the franchise since its 1985 debut. Topps' continued investment in the property demonstrated the enduring appeal of these provocative parody cards across multiple generations of collectors. Hoody Heidi exemplifies the set's playful approach to wordplay and visual gags, transforming familiar pop culture references into GPK's signature absurdist style. The card's combination of clever nomenclature and vibrant artwork captures what collectors prize about the series—irreverent humor delivered through skilled illustration that rewards both casual browsers and dedicated enthusiasts.
