Topps Garbage Pail Kids made a significant return in 2022 after years away from production, introducing the hobby to a new generation while rekindling nostalgia for longtime collectors. The Book Worms set capitalized on the franchise's irreverent humor and artistic tradition, offering contemporary takes on the parody trading card concept that defined the original 1980s phenomenon. This revival demonstrated the enduring appeal of GPK's satirical approach to pop culture. Pierced Percy exemplifies the set's tongue-in-cheek aesthetic, transforming an everyday concept into darkly comedic artwork. The card's subject matter and visual execution showcase why collectors have continuously sought out Garbage Pail Kids—the combination of clever wordplay, detailed illustration, and unapologetic absurdist humor remains distinctly appealing across generations of enthusiasts.
