The Bar/Pieces of the Past Antiquity Edition represented a bold departure from traditional sports card collecting, blending history with numismatic appeal. Released in 2018, this set marked the hobby's broader embrace of historical figures and artifacts beyond athletics, incorporating actual relic material into modern card designs. The series celebrated Americana and cultural icons, inviting collectors to own tangible pieces of the past while participating in the modern card market. Buffalo Bill Cody stands as an iconic figure of American frontier mythology and popular entertainment. His larger-than-life persona shaped how generations understood the Wild West, making him a natural choice for a set celebrating historical Americana. Collectors drawn to this card appreciate both the historical significance of its subject and the novelty of owning a relic-based collectible centered on an American legend rather than contemporary athletes.
