The Sword & Shield era marked a significant evolution in Pokémon TCG distribution, with Black Star Promos serving as exclusive promotional cards distributed through special products and collections. These promos became highly sought after by players and collectors alike, offering alternative artwork and premium positioning outside traditional set releases. The 2022 period represented the tail end of this generation's popularity, when the hobby was experiencing peak collecting interest. Kleavor VSTAR showcases the evolution line introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, bringing a Sinnoh regional variant into the card game. The distinctive bug and rock typing and striking visual design made this card appealing to collectors focused on modern evolutions and Legendary Pokémon variants. Promo versions like this one capture collector interest through their exclusive availability and presentation separate from standard booster releases.
