Scarlet ex represents a pivotal moment in modern Pokémon TCG history, marking the debut of the ninth generation and introducing mechanics that redefined competitive and collector play. Released in 2023, this Japanese set embraced experimental card treatments alongside traditional designs, with Art Rares standing as gallery-quality alternatives that elevated everyday Pokémon into stunning visual statements. The set's emphasis on artistic presentation resonated strongly with collectors seeking cards that transcended gameplay value. Dondozo appears here as an Art Rare, rendered in the set's signature illustrative style that transforms the character into a striking centerpiece. The treatment exemplifies why collectors sought out this particular card variant—it captures the subject with artistic depth and presentation that standard releases simply cannot match.
