Expedition Base Set arrived in 2002 as a defining moment for Pokémon's trading card game, bringing renewed energy to the hobby after several years of releases. The set embraced a jungle expedition theme, featuring creatures in their natural habitats with distinctly different artwork styles than previous sets. Expedition captured collectors' imaginations with its fresh visual direction and helped sustain momentum during a pivotal period for the franchise. Diglett appears here as a classic Ground-type Pokémon rendered in the set's characteristic earthy palette and exploratory spirit. The card represents the everyday appeal of Expedition—approachable Pokémon rendered with renewed artistic vision. Collectors appreciate the set's complete Pokédex representation and the way it balanced familiar favorites with compelling new interpretations of established creatures.
