Paldea Evolved arrived in 2023 as a cornerstone release for the Scarlet and Violet era, capturing the excitement of Pokémon's generation nine games. The set balanced competitive playability with beautiful illustration work, making it a pivotal moment when the TCG was establishing itself post-pandemic as a mature collecting hobby with serious competitive infrastructure. Noivern ex represents the set's appeal perfectly—a striking dragon-type that combines competitive relevance with captivating artwork. The "ex" designation made it a chase card for players and collectors alike, embodying the era's emphasis on powerful, visually dynamic cards that reward both gameplay and display.
