The Sun & Moon era marked a significant shift in Pokémon TCG design philosophy, embracing a more vibrant and expressive aesthetic than previous generations. Released in 2017, this Japanese set introduced collectors to enhanced artwork and the beloved Alolan regional variants that defined Generation VII. The reverse holo treatment became increasingly sought after during this period, as collectors appreciated the subtle shimmer effect combined with full-art imagery. Alolan Rattata represents one of the most visually striking Pokémon debuts of the era, its dark-type redesign a stark departure from the original. This card captures the character's menacing appeal and metallic coloring beautifully, making it a favorite among both Alolan variant enthusiasts and those drawn to the darker, more sophisticated aesthetic of the reverse holo format.
