Shiny Treasure ex represents a significant moment in Japanese Pokémon TCG history, arriving during the post-pandemic boom when demand for vintage and new sealed product reached unprecedented levels. This 2023 set captured collectors' attention through its focus on full-art shiny variants and alternate treatments, embodying the hobby's shift toward chase cards and special editions that defined the era. Wingull appears here as a shiny variant, presenting the seabird Pokémon in its alternate coloration. Collectors pursue shiny cards from this era for their visual appeal and the thrill of pulling rare treatments from modern sets, making every shiny pull feel like a genuine accomplishment rather than a guaranteed hit.
