The autograph appearing on this 1990 Upper Deck card No. 706, attributed to Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Chuck McElroy, has been reviewed by the Crown Authentication team. The signature is rendered in gold ink across the lower portion of the card's photo, exhibiting a flowing cursive style with expressive letter formation and a confident, unrestrained stroke pattern consistent with known McElroy exemplars. Ink examination by Crown Authentication confirms this is a live ink autograph — hand-signed in real ink rather than a printed or facsimile reproduction — evidenced by darkened overlaps at stroke intersections and visible variation in ink pressure and density throughout the signature. Crown Grading assigns this autograph a passing authentication determination based on the physical ink characteristics and consistency of letter formation observed.
