The Terastal Fest ex series marked a significant moment in the modern Japanese Pokémon TCG, introducing the Terastal mechanic that defined gameplay in this era. Released in 2024, this set brought increased accessibility to ex cards through its double rare designation, making competitive and collectible pulls more frequent and democratic than previous releases. The set captured player and collector enthusiasm during peak interest in Terastallization as a central mechanic. Hydrapple ex showcases the evolved form of Applin in its Terastal state, combining appealing creature design with the prestige of the ex classification. Collectors are drawn to this card for its representation of a complete evolutionary line and the visual impact of a Terastal transformation, making it a natural centerpiece for fans of the apple-themed Pokémon.
