Shining Legends arrived in late 2017 as a special set celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Pokémon Trading Card Game. The compact release introduced the Shining Pokémon mechanic, a reprint-focused collection that bridged the gap between expansions and brought back beloved cards with fresh artwork. Its limited scope and commemorative nature made it a defining moment for collectors seeking both nostalgia and new takes on classic designs. Entei GX exemplifies what drew collectors to this set—a legendary beast rendered with vibrant new illustration, paired with the GX mechanic that defined that era of competitive play. The Shining Legends versions of these iconic Pokémon became instant classics, balancing artistic appeal with playability for those chasing both creative expression and functional cards.
