# Card Notes Fleer and SkyBox released this trading card series in 1999 to capitalize on the theatrical release of Wild Wild West, the action-comedy film starring Will Smith and Kevin Kline. The set captured the campy spirit of the movie during a period when entertainment-licensed trading cards remained popular collectibles. Cards from this release are fondly remembered by fans of '90s pop culture and movie merchandise, representing an era when major studios embraced card sets as promotional tie-ins. Rita Escobar, portrayed by Salma Hayek in the film, became one of the set's most sought-after cards among collectors. Her character's memorable role and Hayek's star power made this card particularly desirable then and now. Fans of the movie and those collecting vintage entertainment cards from this era continue to seek out Escobar cards as authentic pieces of late-'90s cinema memorabilia.
