Panini Obsidian represented a premium experiential release during the company's final years as an NFL licensee. The set was known for its elaborate design work and limited parallel variants, with colored versions like this green card adding collectible chase elements. Obsidian occupied a distinct niche in the mid-range collector market, offering sophisticated aesthetics at a time when football card releases were becoming increasingly fractured across competing manufacturers. Marcus Mariota's inclusion in Obsidian captures the quarterback during his tenure with the Tennessee Titans, a period that defined much of his professional trajectory. Collectors are drawn to Mariota cards from this era for their connection to his most significant NFL years, and the green parallel's scarcity—limited to just 25 copies—makes it a notable find for team collectors and parallel enthusiasts alike.
