Secret of the Lakes was a mid-2000s Japanese set that captured the fourth generation's charm during Pokemon's sustained popularity in Japan. Released in 2007, it represented the era when the TCG maintained strong domestic appeal with regional releases that often felt fresher and more experimental than their English counterparts. These sets are fondly remembered by collectors for their distinctive artwork and cultural specificity. Ambipom, the evolved form of Aipom, appears here with the full-art treatment typical of Japanese holos from this period. Collectors appreciate this card for both the Pokemon's dual-tailed design and the set's characteristic aesthetic—a snapshot of Japanese Pokemon card production when artistry remained a defining feature of the hobby.
