Pokémon Stellar Crown arrived in late 2024 as a major expansion that solidified the modern era of the Scarlet & Violet block. The set introduced fresh mechanics and continued the line's commitment to diverse illustration styles, attracting collectors who value artistic presentation alongside competitive gameplay. Illustration Rares—a beloved subset featuring alternative artwork on lower-rarity cards—became a cornerstone of this release, offering accessible entry points for those seeking beautiful, unique pulls. Joltik, the tiny electric spider Pokémon, received standout alternative artwork in this subset. Its diminutive charm and expressive design made it a natural fit for illustrators working in the Illustration Rare category. Collectors gravitated toward this card for its appealing imagery and the accessibility of finding remarkable art on a common Pokémon, making it a gateway piece for building cohesive collections.
