Panini Select emerged in the early 2020s as a premium football release built on the foundation of basketball's successful Select brand. The set emphasized bold design work and innovative parallels, with the Black/Gold Prizm die-cuts standing out as particularly striking variants. These prismatic cards represented the height of modern release-era collecting, appealing to both seasoned hobbyists and newer collectors drawn to their visual impact and technical printing quality. Marshall Faulk's inclusion in Select reflects his enduring place in football history as one of the sport's most dynamic offensive players. The die-cut treatment showcases the Prizm technology that makes these cards catch light beautifully, celebrating Faulk's Hall of Fame career with the visual spectacle contemporary collectors have come to expect from premium releases.
