Topps Garbage Pail Kids made a significant return to trading cards in 2022 with the Book Worms series, bringing the irreverent humor and parody art that defined the original 1980s phenomenon. These sets proved the brand's enduring appeal across generations, blending nostalgic satire with contemporary pop culture. The Book Worms theme offered fresh takes on classic literature and famous adaptations, giving artists new creative territory to explore within the GPK tradition of absurdist, satirical humor. Lou Manji represents the set's playful approach to literary parody, combining wordplay with the exaggerated cartoon artwork GPK collectors expect. Whether referencing a specific character or book, this card showcases the blend of clever naming and visual gags that makes the series engaging. Collectors appreciate these recent releases for keeping the GPK legacy alive while introducing modern interpretations of the parody card formula.
