Garbage Pail Kids dominated the mid-1980s as Topps' irreverent answer to the wholesome Cabbage Patch Kids craze. These satirical sticker cards became a cultural phenomenon, beloved by kids and eventually recognized by collectors as legitimate pop culture artifacts. The series captured the era's subversive humor and remains a touchstone of 1980s trading card history, representing a moment when the hobby embraced parody and personality. "Have A Nice Dave" exemplifies the set's wordplay-driven humor, riffing on the famous Ronald Reagan farewell. The card's witty title and accompanying artwork made it a memorable entry in the series. Like many GPK variations, this card appeals to collectors drawn to the clever gag titles and the nostalgia of discovering these forbidden treasures during their original release.
