Shiny Treasure ex represents a significant moment in Japanese Pokémon TCG history, arriving during the modern era's explosion of special collection sets. Released in 2023, it capitalized on collectors' deep appetite for alternative art treatments and holographic treatments, offering accessibility to stunning visuals beyond traditional chase cards. The set exemplifies how Japanese releases have continued innovating with print runs and special editions that sustain hobby engagement across different collecting tiers. Natu appears in this set as a Shiny Rare, a designation reserved for Pokémon presented in their alternate colorations.
