The Horizons Gem Pack Vol. 1 represents a significant release in the modern Chinese Pokémon TCG market, arriving during a period of renewed international expansion for the franchise. These premium gem packs became collector favorites for their carefully curated reverse holographic selections, offering players and enthusiasts access to sought-after cards with distinctly different artwork treatments than their English counterparts. The set reflects the growing importance of Chinese language releases in the global collecting community. Rockruff, the rock puppy Pokémon, appears here in reverse holographic form with artwork that captures the character's rough charm and rocky exterior. As an early-stage Pokémon with appealing design, Rockruff reverse holos draw collectors who appreciate both the species and the aesthetic qualities these premium finishes provide.
