# Card Notes: Maverick Marvel's "From Then 'Til Now" II set arrived during the early 1990s trading card boom, a period when comic book cards flourished alongside the superhero renaissance in popular culture. These sets captured the characters and storylines that defined Marvel's universe, offering collectors visual representations of their favorite heroes and anti-heroes from the comics themselves. Maverick represents the era's fascination with complex, morally ambiguous characters—operatives and mercenaries who challenged traditional hero archetypes. Collectors appreciate this card for its portrayal of a character whose cunning and tactical expertise made him a fan favorite, particularly among those drawn to Marvel's spy-thriller narratives and supporting cast development.
