# Card Notes The Playboy Chromium Cover Cards Edition 1 represents a distinctive bridge between adult lifestyle publishing and the trading card hobby that emerged in the 1990s. Released in 1995, this set captured chromium printing technology at a moment when the medium was experiencing rapid innovation and experimentation across multiple genres. These cards documented iconic Playboy covers from the magazine's history, creating an unusual collectible that appealed to both nostalgia enthusiasts and those exploring the broader landscape of non-sports card collecting during the decade.
