Shiny Treasure ex marked a significant moment in Japanese Pokémon TCG history as a premium set focused entirely on Shiny Pokémon. Released in 2023, it captured collector enthusiasm during the post-Scarlet and Violet launch period when interest in holographic and special finish cards remained exceptionally high. The set's emphasis on alternate art treatments and shiny variants made it a cornerstone release for players and collectors seeking visually striking cards from this generation. Garganacl's inclusion as a holo rare showcases the impressive illustration work that defined this era of Japanese releases. The card depicts this Rock-type evolution in dynamic form, making it a natural draw for collectors pursuing complete Shiny Treasure ex sets and those building Pokédex collections around newer generation evolutions.
