Surging Sparks arrived in 2024 as a standard expansion that showcased the modern Pokemon TCG's refined approach to full-art illustration. The set continued the hobby's momentum during a period of sustained collector interest, offering accessible chase cards alongside competitive playables. Full-art variants had become a collector staple by this point, representing the intersection of tournament viability and aesthetic appeal that defines contemporary Pokemon releases. Tatsugiri ex appears here as a full-art showcase of this quirky dragon-type, rendered with the vibrant detail characteristic of the era's illustration standards. The full-art treatment elevates the creature's distinctive design, making it a natural draw for collectors who appreciate both the Pokemon itself and the presentation quality of modern printings.
