Phantom Forces arrived in late 2014 as a landmark set for the Pokémon TCG, introducing the competitive Mega Evolution mechanic that would define the format for years. The set's fresh mechanics and striking artwork made it a turning point—both serious players and collectors embraced it enthusiastically, and booster boxes remain sought after today. Gengar Spirit Link exemplifies why this era resonates with collectors. Spirit Links were essential competitive tools that enabled powerful Mega Evolution strategies, and Gengar's sinister charm paired with the card's elegant design captures the best of Phantom Forces' aesthetic. Fans continue to appreciate both its playability legacy and visual appeal.
