Disney Lorcana debuted in 2023 as a strategic trading card game that unified Disney's vast character catalog into competitive play. The First Chapter set established the game's foundation and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, drawing both longtime TCG players and Disney enthusiasts into collecting. Japanese versions held particular appeal for international collectors seeking regional variants and alternative artwork treatments unavailable in English releases. Sebastian, the cunning sea witch's sidekick from The Little Mermaid, represents the game's deep dive into classic Disney animation. His inclusion reflects Lorcana's commitment to celebrating the full spectrum of Disney's roster, from heroes to memorable supporting characters. Collectors appreciate cards featuring beloved antagonists and comic relief figures that bring nostalgic animation moments to life.
