Impel's 1991 Disney Collector Cards represent a unique moment when trading card manufacturers expanded aggressively beyond sports into entertainment properties. This set captured collectors' fascination with Disney characters during the early '90s collecting boom, when card companies were experimenting with licensed properties to build new audiences. The Impel brand, known for quality production, brought that same attention to detail to this Disney release. Card 53, "The Chase is On," features one of Disney's most iconic pursuit sequences. The dynamic composition and vibrant artwork exemplify what drew collectors to this set—the chance to own beautifully rendered scenes from beloved films in trading card form. Collectors continue to seek these cards as nostalgic snapshots of both Disney animation and the era when collecting itself was rapidly evolving.
