Impel Disney Collector Cards arrived in 1991 as one of several licensed trading card products exploring Disney's vast character catalog. The early nineties saw trading cards expand well beyond sports, with entertainment properties competing for collector attention. Impel's Disney set represents a nostalgic snapshot of the era when animated characters were natural subjects for the hobby's mainstream collectibility. "And we're off…" captures a moment of kinetic energy and anticipation, embodying the playful spirit that defines Disney's most iconic characters. The artwork exemplifies the vibrant illustration style of early nineties card design. Collectors appreciate these cards as artifacts of a specific moment when Disney's timeless appeal crossed into the trading card mainstream.
