Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Abbreviated 'M [loop] P-t' shorthand. The M is a wide angular zigzag, followed by a small looped connector, a tall P with a descending stem, and a long horizontal terminal stroke. | R6, R1, R3 and R8 show the same three-unit structure. The M runs roughly 1.3–1.5x the height of the trailing letters, and the P-t group ends in a long horizontal. | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Moderate right slant with a roughly level baseline. The final stroke runs flat to slightly rising. | Level-to-slightly-rising baseline with right slant on R1, R3, R6 and R8. R4 and R5 are slightly more compressed. | Match |
| Letter construction – M | The M starts with a short upstroke and two sharp descending peaks, ending in a tall right-hand upstroke shaped like an 'l'. | Identical angular M with a tall final ascender on R1, R2, R3, R6 and R8. | Match |
| Letter construction – P and t | Large open P bowl, with the stem dropping well below the baseline into a hooked descender. This leads into a small 'g/y'-like form and a long t-crossbar extending right. | R6 shows the same P bowl, sub-baseline descender, and extended horizontal finish. R1 and R3 show the same P-hook-t sequence. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | The M connects into a small 'e'-like loop. There is a pen lift before the P. The P connects through to the terminal. | Same lift between the M-loop unit and the P on R1, R3, R6 and R8. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | The starting stroke is tapered. The terminal horizontal thins out toward the right end, which indicates a flying finish. | Tapered entries and flying horizontal exits on R1, R3, R6 and R8. | Match |
| Line quality and speed | Fluent, confident strokes with smooth curves. No visible tremor, patching or hesitation at this resolution. | Rapid, fluent execution across all references. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Ink density varies, heavier on the M downstrokes and the P bowl and lighter on the terminal. This is not uniform fill. | Similar light-heavy variation on R6 and R1. | Match |
| Spacing | Clear gap between the M unit and the P-t unit, roughly the width of the M loop. | Comparable gap on R1, R3, R6 and R8. Slightly tighter on R4 and R5, consistent with smaller sticker surfaces. | Natural variation |
| Flourishes and underlines | No underline. The extended terminal horizontal serves as the flourish. | No underlines in any reference. The extended terminal is present in all. | Match |
| Placement and size | Centered in the 'Artist Autograph' box and filling most of its width. Blue ink. | R6 is in blue ink on the same card format. The sticker references vary in size but share the same proportions. | Match |
| Reproduction indicators | No halftone dot pattern discernible. Stroke edges look like ink rather than print. Gloss interaction cannot be judged from the scan. | n/a | Not assessable |
Examiner notes
Our card is 2025 Magic Marker Art Horrorible Kids Series 9 (#273a, 01/10 per label), signed on-card in the designated box. R6 comes from the same Horrorible Kids product line and is the closest era and format match. R1–R5 and R8 are Nintendopes sticker autos, likely early-to-mid 2020s, signed in the same compact 'M P-t' shorthand. R7 is an undated JSA-certified print. Pingitore's modern signature appears stable across these references, so no era adjustment is needed.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
